System Diagrams

2.4KW Peak, Grid Intertie

This diagram represents an example of a typical small to medium size system capable of producing about 3,800 to 4,100 KWhrs per year.

The "AC Mains" panel is your existing Main electrical panel where your circuit breakers are for the electric circuits in your house. So as you can see, other than the PV panels, the components for a grid intertie system take little space. Occasionally, there is a need to install a subpanel to support the inputs from more than one inverter, with little space left in the AC Mains panel. See our systems photos.

Standalone PV System (OFF grid)

Here's one example of a somewhat typical stand alone PV system with generator back up. This system would provide you with about 7.1 to 8.2 KWhrs/day, with enough storage in the batteries to keep your power up for about three to five days without sun. The solar electric part of this electric system would cost in the range of $19,000.00 to $25,000.00, depending on factors such as: PV mounting location, distance PVs to the batteries, whether the batteries, inverter and related switchgear are located in a dedicated structure, need for future expansion, and more.
